Alyson Robinson

After training in Melbourne as an art and textiles teacher in secondary schools, Alyson taught mostly art and followed her military husband around eastern Australia and to Malaysia. On the way she was able to expand her knowledge and experience in all things textile, through various groups like the Creative Group of the Embroiderer’s Guild in Adelaide, Fibres and Fabrics in Townsville and the ACT Textile Art Association. Designing, knitting and sewing garments is a passion, but there’s also been dyeing, printing, needle-felting, fabric manipulation and embroidery used in images and sculpture.

Jewellery making has complimented a special outfit, whether she has been using ceramics, enameling, beads, silver or textiles.  Needle-felting is a relatively new strand to Alyson's jewellery making after discovering zipper brooches on Pinterest.
