Southern Hemisphere Felting Convergence

Convergence is a gathering of felt makers from the Southern Hemisphere and other parts of the world. Sharing knowledge about feltmaking is the underlying theme. It has become customary to hold a Convergence every two years, alternately in Australia and New Zealand.


Textile Works Gallery

Textile Works Gallery is located at 70 Maclaurin Crescent, Chifley and is used for exhibitions by Canberra Region Feltmakers and Canberra Spinners and Weavers. Public and members-only exhibitions will be held each month in the Gallery.


Jindy by the Sea

This annual members only event used to be held in Jindabyne but now happens at Tuross. Members can book in to attend for individual nights or the whole retreat. A week of feltmaking in a fun, informal atmosphere. This is not a formal workshop but an opportunity to share ideas, techniques and stories.


Rapt in felt: Our stories (2018)

Rapt in felt: Our stories was opened by Harriet Elvin, Chief Executive Officer of the Cultural Facilities Corporation, which runs a number of the ACT’s major cultural venues, including the Canberra Theatre Centre, the Canberra Museum and Gallery, and three historic house museums – Lanyon, Calthorpes’ House and Mugga-Mugga. 


CRF at The Royal Canberra Show

The Canberra Region Feltmakers members enter their work in the Felt section of the Crafts Expo at The Royal Canberra Show. During the show they act as stewards for the Felt section. Drop in to say hello and see feltmaking demonstrations.  This year's theme is Market Gardens and Canberra Region Feltmakers are working with ACT Textile Arts to prepare a shared display space.
