Convergence is a gathering of felt makers from the Southern Hemisphere and other parts of the world. Sharing knowledge about feltmaking is the underlying theme. It has become customary to hold a Convergence every two years, alternately in Australia and New Zealand.

Would you like to spend time making felt in a friendly supportive environment? This is not a workshop, just a relaxed, fun time where you can explore felting techniques, working on a project of your own choice alongside other felt makers and sharing ideas. Bring your own wool and felting equipment.
Rapt in felt: Our stories was opened by Harriet Elvin, Chief Executive Officer of the Cultural Facilities Corporation, which runs a number of the ACT’s major cultural venues, including the Canberra Theatre Centre, the Canberra Museum and Gallery, and three historic house museums – Lanyon, Calthorpes’ House and Mugga-Mugga.
The Canberra Region Feltmakers members enter their work in the Felt section of the Crafts Expo at The Royal Canberra Show. During the show they act as stewards for the Felt section. Drop in to say hello and see feltmaking demonstrations.

This annual event for Canberra Region Feltmakers used to be held in Jindabyne but now happens at Tuross. Members can book in to attend for individual nights or the whole retreat. A week of feltmaking in a fun, informal atmosphere. This is not a formal workshop but an opportunity to share ideas, techniques and stories.
