Convergence is a gathering of felt makers from the Southern Hemisphere and other parts of the world. Sharing knowledge about feltmaking is the underlying theme. It has become customary to hold a Convergence every two years, alternately in Australia and New Zealand.

Rapt in felt: Our stories was opened by Harriet Elvin, Chief Executive Officer of the Cultural Facilities Corporation, which runs a number of the ACT’s major cultural venues, including the Canberra Theatre Centre, the Canberra Museum and Gallery, and three historic house museums – Lanyon, Calthorpes’ House and Mugga-Mugga.

The Canberra Region Feltmakers members enter their work in the Felt section of the Crafts Expo at The Royal Canberra Show. During the show they act as stewards for the Felt section. Drop in to say hello and see feltmaking demonstrations.

Canberra Region Feltmakers participate at the National Folk Festival (NFF), an annual event which is always a great success, with lots of felt items on sale and an overwhelming interest in the demonstrations and workshops we provide as part of the NFF programme.
