Convergence is a gathering of felt makers from the Southern Hemisphere and other parts of the world. Sharing knowledge about feltmaking is the underlying theme. It has become customary to hold a Convergence every two years, alternately in Australia and New Zealand.

Rapt in felt: Our stories was opened by Harriet Elvin, Chief Executive Officer of the Cultural Facilities Corporation, which runs a number of the ACT’s major cultural venues, including the Canberra Theatre Centre, the Canberra Museum and Gallery, and three historic house museums – Lanyon, Calthorpes’ House and Mugga-Mugga.

Canberra Region Feltmakers participate at the National Folk Festival (NFF), an annual event which is always a great success. This year we will run workshops as part of the NFF programme.

This annual event for Canberra Region Feltmakers used to be held in Jindabyne but now happens at Tuross. Members can book in to attend for individual nights or the whole retreat. A week of feltmaking in a fun, informal atmosphere. This is not a formal workshop but an opportunity to share ideas, techniques and stories.
